The IIDA Interior Design Excellence Awards, aka IDEA Awards, is hands down one of the best celebrations in our industry.
Parallel Design Group, a first-time sponsor for the IDEA Awards is thrilled for and proud of our new employee Kaitlyn Barrett, who came home with some well-deserved and exciting hardware this year: the Best In Show and Corporate/Commercial New Construction. Regarding the Best In Show Award, Kaitlyn shares, “This project took an army and many thanks are owed to the team of amazing clients, partners and vendors who helped transform CEDIA into an extraordinary space. My past employment and experiences have prepared me for my new path with PDG and I can’t wait to see what unfolds.”
The focus of the event this year was sustainability and the IIDA Team did a great job making sure that nothing went to waste, as they worked in creative ways to minimize waste and maximize sustainable practices. Their entire carbon footprint of 8092 pounds of CO2 was offset by donating to the Nature Conservancy to fund forest conservation and improved forest management. In all, their Carbon Neutral initiative provided a tangible way for guests to partake in going green; such as substituting QR codes for printed brochures, electronic tickets, recycling bins throughout the event space, etc. The IIDEA team was happy to report that zero waste was produced.
Hosted at Crane Bay in Indianapolis, the evening started off with drinks, dinner and dancing (in that order). To ensure all who attended were safe, IIDA provided discount codes for Lyft rides.
Parallel Design is encouraged and inspired to know that 100% of the proceeds went directly to the Hoosier Environmental Council AND they will match the money that was raised at the event.
Big kudos to all who put together such a lovely event. You make our already-fun-job even more fun. Congrats to all who submitted amazing projects and a special shout out to the well-deserved winners.
