Engel & Völkers aims to create a luxurious experience for clients buying and selling properties all over the world. With over 26 years of experience, Jeff, our client, and friend is an established and trusted realtor in the business of luxury real estate services. Jeff met Briana Dunkin (our Founder, Principal, and Designer) a few years back via Thompson Thrift, and they reconnected when Jeff was in the market for a new space to call home in Fishers, Indiana. Our team tackled this project as we do most, utilizing an all-hands-on-deck approach, with Kaitlyn Barrett (Studio Director + Senior Interior Director) leading the charge on PDG's behalf and design and production support from Alex Rice (Project Interior Designer).
In our early discussions with our client, Jeff expressed that he loved the idea of planting E&V's roots in the Fishers District due to its curb appeal, high-end clientele, walkability, and green space. Their previous space occupied in Fishers did not have near the visibility that their new space does as they were in a building with little light and located on the second floor. Soon enough they settled at 9705 Fishers District Drive.
From a design perspective, it was imperative that Engel & Völkers stayed true to the company's international brand and global guide. With the company being Germany-based and New York serving as a large market for the brand, the Fisher's location features the brand's iconic shop design, incorporating inviting design elements to create a unique shop, true to Fishers.
The biggest
challenge of the project? Jeff knew early on that space would need to be
maximized. By adding a mezzanine, E&V could tack on an additional 890 square feet of office space upstairs. Complying to code, yet also allowing staff
to have appropriate head height was challenging due to the sloped deck. The
mezzanine had to be redesigned multiple times and would be considered a pain
point in the project that ended up turning out beautifully. Can any designers
relate?
In addition to partnering with Parallel, to make this vision come to life, Jeff employed several companies throughout the design process with which he had previous relationships. Victory Surfaces, which specialize in residential and commercial stone fabrication, granite countertops, ceramic tile, terrazzo, and concrete, assisted with elements within, most notably this awesome custom E&V branded conference table, as pictured below.
It's safe to say that the move has elevated the E&V brand to new heights. A large part of the company's intentional culture includes collaboration. community, and luxury service, and the team is excited this design builds upon that mindset. With the bar centrally located in the space, real estate professionals and clients alike can now gather to celebrate all year round whether it be for a Cinco de Mayo celebration, bourbon tasting, a client's closing, or a company anniversary. Another function of the space is, of course, a coffee bar with a collaborative seating area for those who frequent the shop. In the near future, E&V plans to use the open design concept to serve as a public art gallery, featuring and supporting local artists.
Jeff ended our time by sharing, “At Engel & Völkers, it is imperative that our clients know they are receiving luxury real estate service, no matter what their price point is. The design of our new space in Fishers needed to match that commitment. We are certainly pleased with the excellent design service and expertise that Parallel Design Group brought to the table to help us achieve our vision and to produce a space that is true to the E&V brand.”
