Section 127 is a full-service creative firm with a wide range of capabilities including environmental design, marketing, and branding. As a creative firm with an architect on staff, Section 127 worked closely with us on the design at every turn, resulting in a truly collaborative, multifaceted design.

Challenges
  1. Challenge: Echo Brand Culture

As a newly formed company based on creativity, we strived to design a space that truly reflected the distinctive personality behind the Section 127 business and team. The result is a unique, two-story office that overcomes aesthetic hurdles by blending rustic charm with crisp, modern design choices.

  2. Challenge: Divided Workspace

The unusual two-story interior divided the workforce onto different floors and impaired office teamwork. To foster employee connections, an internal open staircase and spacious atrium now allow a view of both floors. Glass office fronts created additional transparency and openness.

  3. Challenge: Vintage Construction

While the old building had great charm and potential, the existing architecture, lower ceilings, imperfect structural elements, and exposed deck ceiling each created unique design dilemmas. Skylights and efficient lighting lifted the low ceilings while modern choices like clean white walls, high gloss cabinets, and contemporary hardware contrasted the aged structure.

Space Breakdown

Every space consists of five zones.

Open and shared spaces are popular in office environments creating challenges in audible privacy and the ability to stay on task. Each workspace is uniquely designed to balance perceived privacy and accessible collaboration.
